Who Is Annabel?
Business Coach & Mentor
Hi, I’m Annabel, a mother a wife a daughter and a friend.
I am an ex teacher, a successful business woman and an explorer of all things entrepreneurial related.

I graduated from Manchester University in 2000 with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in Business and Accounts, having previously gained a degree in Economics. I dedicated twenty years to teaching and inspiring numerous students in a variety of settings, including teaching Accounts and Business A Levels. I loved teaching and educating young people and had a varied and exciting career for many years. However, like a lot of people in the public sector I witnessed many changes and realised I wanted to be my own manager and set up my own business. It became an ambition of mine to manage my own time and workload. I wanted to set my own to do list and become financially independent. I wanted the flexibility to be a mum who could see her own child’s sports day, I wanted the freedom to decide what hours I worked and when to relax, rather than be dictated to by a contract of employment. I wanted to be my own manager rather than listen to the endless middle managers in education. I felt undervalued, over looked and increasingly that my voice was becoming stifled.

In 2020 I made the bold decision to leave teaching and embrace self employment. After a lot of research and exploration I opted to train as a Foot Health Care Practitioner. I completed the training in my own time and taught myself how to set up as a sole trader. Finding the information in a clear and concise way was hard, well it didn’t actually exist, I was filled with fear I was doing something wrong. I had to learn how to identify my core clients and market my business. I needed to walked myself through HMRC registration. I was terrified I was doing it wrong and that I’d get myself into trouble I spent hours looking for the best insurance, how to comply with GDPR and ensure I understood health and safety protocols. It was a mind field and the time I should have been spending honing my craft I was spending making endless calls and researching endless documents.

I spent too long researching and feeling uncertain that I was doing the right thing, it took the joy out of setting up a business. I looked for areas I could get help but could not find a one stop shop for all my questions. Setting up as a sole trader involved more than I imagined and it led to more questions than it answered. I struggled through and made a pledge I would make it easier for those coming after me.

I set up a thriving business the hard way, the long way, the lonely way and made the decision to create The Sole Trader Toolkit Course so you do not have to do it this way. This course will lead you through the uncertainty of establishing a business. It will lead you through creating aims and goals for your business to crafting your own Unique Selling Point. It will show how to comply with GDPR regulations and it will set out the tax and national insurance guides.

I also offer a mentorship programme for those of you aspiring to be a sole trader. The mentorship programme encourages, supports, and assists people to get the best out of themselves and their business. I will lead you through any queries or problems that may arise. I will help you with your positive mindset and can do approach.

So whether it is a business course, mentorship program or both I’ve got you covered.
